Citrix Systems’ President and CEO Kirill Tatarinov is leaving the company immediately. He will be replaced by David Henshall, Citrix's CFO and COO. This is the second CEO the company has had in a little over a year.
The company said it was a “mutual separation decision” between the Citrix board and Tatarinov, a former Microsoft executive. Tatarinov was named CEO in January 2016 as the company was in the process of spinning off its GoTo conferencing software and putting more focus on its NetScaler networking business.
Citrix has been placing more emphasis on its NetScaler business in the past year. In the first quarter its NetScaler business, which includes its application delivery controllers (ADCs), software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN), and cloud infrastructure, dropped 1 percent year-over-year in revenue. However, the company’s overall quarterly revenue remained steady at $663 million compared to $659 million in the same period last year.
The company is still expecting its second quarter revenue to be in the range of $685 million to $695 million with strong demand from customers for subscription-based cloud offerings.
During its first-quarter earnings call, Citrix officials said they expect NetScaler to return to growth in the second half of the year.
NetScaler SD-WAN offers dynamic path selection, WAN optimization, firewalls, routing, and application analytics. It can be deployed either on-premises or in the cloud, which allows customers to use existing routers combined with its built-in branch routing capabilities.
