Cisco is combining the Enterprise Networking & Cloud (EN&C) and Mass-Scale Infrastructure Group (MIG) in order “to deliver one vision for networking end-to-end,” according to a company spokesperson.
The company expects to name the new division soon, the spokesperson told SDxCentral.
“Uniting these two organizations gives us the ability to bring technology solutions even closer together, uniquely solve our customer challenges in transforming infrastructure and align our business,” said the spokesperson.
Cisco confirmed the combination for SDxCentral on the heels of the news that Todd Nightingale, who held the role of EVP and GM, Enterprise Networking and Cloud business at Cisco, was leaving to take on the CEO role for the edge cloud company Fastly.
Jonathan Davidson to Lead New DivisionAs part of this “end-to-end” vision, Jonathan Davidson will take on an expanded role leading a new organization that combines Enterprise Networking & Cloud with the Mass-Scale Infrastructure Group.
“We are confident that this organization, under Jonathan’s leadership, will continue to accelerate innovation for our customers and partners, create new opportunities for the teams, and drive growth for our business,” said the spokesperson.

Todd Nightingale Moves to FastlyFormer Cisco networking and cloud leader Todd Nightingale will take on the CEO role for the edge cloud company Fastly, effective September 1, to succeed Joshua Bixby, according to Fastly.
Nightingale joined Cisco with the Meraki acquisition in 2012 and has been leading Cisco’s enterprise networking and cloud business since 2020 as EVP and GM to manage business strategy and development efforts for the network giant’s multi-billion-dollar networking portfolio.
Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins expressed his appreciation for Nightingale’s leadership and contribution to the company on Twitter, while Fastly leaders expect Nightingale’s background in the networking industry to help strengthen its technology and go-to-market strategy and lead the growth.
“At Cisco, we always want the best for our teams, our people, and their continued growth in their careers. We are grateful for Todd’s (Nightingale’s) many contributions to Cisco and congratulate him as he takes on a new opportunity as a CEO of another company in an adjacent market. At the same time, we are excited for Cisco's Jonathan Davidson to take on an expanded role leading a new organization that combines Enterprise Networking & Cloud with the Mass-Scale Infrastructure Group. We are confident that this new team will continue to accelerate innovation for our customers and partners and drive growth for our business," the Cisco spokesperson said.
