In a move to differentiate itself from the increasingly crowded SD-WAN pack, Aryaka today announced it was breaking out its SD-WAN platform into a range of smart services.

According to David Ginsburg, VP of product and solutions marketing at Aryaka, the move will give customers greater flexibility.

"We've taken what used to be called SmartConnect, which was really a catch-all for all the various things we did across the infrastructure as part of our managed SD-WAN service, and we're beginning to break this out to a number of service offerings," he said.

Ginsburg explained that by doing this, it makes Aryaka's product line easier to compare to competing vendors. "Instead of hiding everything behind the curtain, we're now bringing these various services front and center," he said.

The restructured Smart Services product line breaks out many features previously only available as part of Aryaka's SmartConnect SD-WAN platform.

Joining the company's SD-WAN offering are SmartOptimize, a network, and application acceleration service; SmartCloud, a multi-cloud network management service; SmartInsights, which the company bills as an "insights-as-a-service" offering; and an all-new security as a service called SmartSecure.

The entire product line will be offered as managed services, which can be orchestrated and monitored globally using Aryaka's SmartManage offering.

SmartSecure, Aryaka's newly announced managed security offering, is designed to allow customers to leverage its network function virtualization (NFV) architecture and its security capabilities at the edge.

Palo Alto Networks' will be the first to extend support for Aryaka's new security service.

According to Ginsburg, additional vendors are expected to add support for the security service in the coming months.

Alongside these announcements, Aryaka also unveiled a new regional SD-WAN and application acceleration service.

The new offering opens the door to regional WAN deployments that the company claims will offer the same quality of service enjoyed by its global customers.

Ginsburg explained that prior to this regional offering, enterprises had largely relied on Aryaka to connect their most disparate branches and the company hadn't done much business in smaller regional markets.

"Going forward we will be able to service both the global footprint of that enterprise and the regional footprint of that enterprise and it will no longer have to be either," he said.

Aryaka's SmartConnect SD-WAN is available now. SmartConnect regional and Hybrid-WAN, alongside standalone versions of SmartOptimize, SmartCloud, SmartInsights, and SmartSecure will be available during the first quarter of 2020.
