Arelion expanded its AI infrastructure line with upgraded 400 Gb/s (400G) Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) services.

Included in its AI Direct offering, the service introduces dynamic prioritized routing across Arelion’s backbone, which the company says automatically reroutes traffic around network events in real time. Arelion added the platform offers long-distance private connectivity for large enterprise networks and data center interconnection, bolstering transport for AI-centric workloads.

Users are also able to combine EVPL on a single port with Arelion’s cloud connection service and IP Transit. This is achieved through its multiple services on one port (MSOP) model, claimed to reduce complexity and improve operational flexibility for AI data centers, graphic processing unit (GPU) clusters, and hybrid cloud environments.

The EVPL service also leverages a network-protected, priority-based "class of service" framework to ensure safe and efficient transport of proprietary data, model updates, and application traffic supporting AI agent deployments from enterprises. Also touted was a low-latency, scalable data exchange for real-time workloads across sectors such as financial services and streaming, and support for jumbo frames – oversized Ethernet packets – with a maximum transmission unit (MTU) of 9,400 bytes across the network.

Arelion joins a market of scale-across solutions for the AI era as offered by the likes of Rad, Lumen, and Lightmatter. Nvidia remains a dominant player through Spectrum-XGS, which is designed to connect multiple data centers to form unified "AI super-factories."

The release follows an automated distributed denial of service (DDoS) mitigation solution from Arelion. Known as SecureConnect, the solution automatically detects commonplace DDoS attack types, with an emphasis on volumetric threats of the sort which Cloudflare and others have recently faced.
