The vendor is seeing customers who initially purchased a firewall-based single-vendor secure access service edge solution that failed to deliver, Jay Chaudhry said.
The vendor revealed the price tags of its two recent acquisitions — about $232 million for Dig Security and about $435 million for Talon Cyber Security.
“In 2024 we expect attackers to use generative AI and LLMs [large language models] to personalize and slowly scale their campaigns,” said Google Cloud CISO Phil Venables.
The vendor also introduced five new next-generation firewalls, expanding its portfolio to include more use cases such as 5G and operational technology.
"We actually have a roadmap to continue to add those [secure access service edge] capabilities and features throughout next year,” SVP Dan DeBacker said.
The layoffs could affect more than 500 mostly-U.S. employees, although Splunk CEO Gary Steele noted that they were not a direct result of the Cisco acquisition.
The vendor announced about a dozen enhancements related to artificial intelligence and large language models, along with other data and application news.
“Security should be a strategic priority for all small and medium businesses, just because they can't afford to have the disruption,” AWS's Ben Schreiner said.
Tech giants warn that all organizations or individuals serving HTTP-based workloads on the internet might be vulnerable to this distributed denial of service attack.
The vendor added 600 series campus access switches with multigigabit support and 2000 series campus core switches designed for large and complex campuses.
