It continues to target up to 5 million fixed-wireless access customers by 2025, with CEO Hans Vestberg stating the network is ready “for way more.”

"We've been pleased with the positive early reception," CEO John Stankey said of its fixed-wireless access service.

The move also comes at the tail end of what was a previous three-year turnaround program.

T-Mobile US' test was run on its commercial 5G standalone network, while AT&T's was conducted in a lab environment.

The launch is the first of a planned 250 satellites the company plans to have in orbit by the end of 2025.

The product grab comes on the heels of the carrier late last year launching its Cisco-powered cloud-native 5G core gateway platform.

This will support Comcast services using both the lightly-licensed Citizen Broadband Radio Service spectrum and its 600 MHz spectrum.

The deal calls for AT&T to deploy wireless infrastructure in Frontier’s fiber-focused facilities.
