The SageMaker Operators for Kubernetes product allows users to tap into data housed within SageMaker to populate a Kubernetes-controlled container or cluster of containers.

The company cited simplicity and security as being the heart of its K10 platform in order to target a growing push toward Kubernetes-based, cloud-native applications.

It is the second cloud-based storage project accepted by the CNCF in 2018 and the eighth project to graduate.

VMware also added security services and unveiled a beta program for two of its new Kubernetes products.

Blending the needs of DevOps and NetOps positions companies to deliver better business outcomes, VP Douglas Gourlay said.

The preview launch continues the broader industry push to help enterprises deal with “cloud sprawl.”

The eventing project is backed by cloud heavyweights Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.

The new security tool follows a slew of product upgrades and acquisitions as Google tries to wrestle cloud market share from Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
