Versa Networks today announced it reached an agreement with London-based IT distributor Nuvias to launch an SD-WAN service aimed at small to midsize businesses (SMBs).
The new service, dubbed Versa Titan, promises to simplify the deployment and management of branch offices and make it easier for SMBs to control their WAN costs as well as improve network stability and application performance. Like Versa’s core SD-WAN product, the new offering features routing, security, and analytics capabilities including next-generation firewall, unified threat management, multi-tenancy, zero-touch provisioning, and multi-cloud connectivity.
“Whilst SD-WAN is being adopted by large enterprises, the Versa Titan service allows Nuvias channel partners to unlock the fast-growing mid-market opportunity with a secure, carrier-agnostic, cloud-managed SD-WAN solution that is easy to design, deploy and manage, at a cost that delivers rapid [return on investment] for [SMBs],” said Paul Eccleston, executive chairman at the Nuvias Group, in a statement.
SMB SD-WAN Market Heats UpThe SMB market, once dominated by smaller niche SD-WAN offerings, in recent months has seen an influx of attention from larger, more established vendors of which Versa is the latest.
In early February, TPxCommunications announced it was adding Cisco Meraki to its managed services portfolio specifically to address the SMB market. Just days later, managed security and SD-WAN vendor Fortinet took aim at the SMB market with its smallest SD-WAN appliance to date: the FortiGate 40F.
The trend came as no surprise to IDC analyst Brandon Butler, who in an earlier interview with SDxCentral, said as the SD-WAN market becomes increasingly crowded vendors are apt to look downmarket for new opportunities. “We have seen an increased focus by some of the major SD-WAN vendors lower down into the market, both into the mid-market and into the small- to medium-size business sides of the market,” he said.
