Tech Mahindra has secured a licensing agreement for Cricket Wireless's Point of Sale (POS) system, Aktivate. This agreement allows Tech Mahindra to integrate Aktivate into its solutions for wireless service providers globally, marking the first time Cricket Wireless has licensed its intellectual property to a third party. Aktivate is a mobile-first POS system used in over 4,000 Cricket retail outlets and incorporates GenAI to assist store agents in serving customers.

Manish Mangal, Chief Technology Officer at Tech Mahindra, noted that the agreement will enhance their portfolio by providing user-friendly GenAI-driven POS systems, improving customer satisfaction while reducing training time. The partnership emphasizes their mutual commitment to innovation in telecommunications.

Matt Haymons, Chief Information Officer at Cricket Wireless, expressed confidence that the partnership with Tech Mahindra would create value for both organizations and expand Aktivate's market reach. Implementation of this agreement will start immediately, allowing Tech Mahindra to offer the proven solution to wireless providers in new markets.

Scott Frank, Vice President of IP Sales at AT&T, remarked on the licensing agreement as a way to maximize the return on development efforts through strategic partnerships. Tech Mahindra's focus remains on enhancing customer service for global telecom providers using advanced GenAI technology, reinforcing its role in the telecommunications sector.
