MITRE will collaborate with NVIDIA to advance the development of AI-native wireless networks, targeting innovations in 6G technologies.

MITRE's initiative will focus on redesigning wireless networks from the ground up, harnessing current and future advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). This partnership aims to achieve improvements in spectrum efficiency and connectivity across various sectors, such as transportation and healthcare.

Mark Peters, president and CEO of MITRE, stated, “AI-native wireless networks will bring transformative benefits for transportation, healthcare, and more, improving spectrum efficiency and connectivity, enhancing real-time sensing and monitoring, and enabling innovations.”

As NVIDIA's founding research partner for 6G, MITRE plans to develop and prototype new AI-driven services and applications, which may encompass dynamic spectrum sharing, network security, and integrated sensing and communications.

Charles Clancy, MITRE’s chief technology officer, emphasized the importance of maintaining the United States' telecom leadership, noting, “We’re excited to work with NVIDIA to help drive forward the future of wireless networks.”

MITRE will leverage its telecommunications expertise, including extensive knowledge of spectrum sharing and wireless security, to facilitate this partnership.

This collaboration with NVIDIA joins previous initiatives, including the Federal AI Sandbox, aimed at uniting industry and government efforts in advancing global simulation technologies. Additionally, MITRE and NVIDIA are focusing on modeling and simulation efforts for autonomous systems.
