Managed SD-WAN service provider Masergy expanded its unified communications-as-a-service offerings this week to include Cisco’s popular Webex video conferencing service.
The offering consolidates Masergy’s existed unified communications platform and Webex into a single application that integrates with the company’s Fortinet-based SD-WAN and SASE services.
Masergy and Cisco have a long history of working together on unified communications, and the service provider has offered a range of communication services based on Cisco technology going back to 2004.
Specifically, this week’s update pairs Masergy’s underlying infrastructure for voice and video communications with the chat, file sharing, and conferencing capabilities of Webex.
“Masergy directly manages and operators the network and security service so our clients can get back to doing what they do best,” Masergy CTO Terry Traina said, in a statement.
When paired with the service provider’s SD-WAN offering, Masergy claims enterprises can achieve “highly-reliable communications”anywhere in the world.
Masergy’s RevampThis week’s update is the latest in an ongoing revamp of Masergy's managed service offerings. Last Summer, announced its entrance into the SASE market through a partnership with Fortinet.
The offering stitched together edge hardware and SD-WAN functionality from Fortinet with an in-house security stack that included several key SASE capabilities like cloud access security broker, secure web gateway, zero trust network access, and cloud-based firewalls.
Then last fall, Masergy expanded its security capabilities to include BitGlass’ cloud access security broker to protect software-as-a-service applications and other workflows.
