InfluxData has announced the launch of Read Replicas for Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB, a new feature aimed at enhancing query performance and availability for enterprise-scale time series workloads on AWS. This addition is part of InfluxData's collaboration with AWS, allowing developers to manage InfluxDB natively on the platform without self-management burdens.
The Read Replicas provide scalable query capacity and rapid failover, addressing developers' needs for reliable data access amid increasing demands for real-time infrastructure monitoring and IoT applications. This capability is designed to support high query throughput and improve overall efficiency for workloads that require constant data availability.
Evan Kaplan, CEO of InfluxData, stated, “With the availability of Read Replicas, we're addressing the critical challenges enterprises face as they scale these workloads.” Kaplan emphasized the importance of seamless operations for developers focused on mission-critical applications.
Brad Bebee, Director at AWS, highlighted the benefits for customers, saying, “With Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB Read Replicas, customers can scale query throughput and improve the availability of their InfluxDB open source deployments using an AWS managed database service.” This underscores the mutual goal between InfluxData and AWS to support organizations that depend on time series data.
Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB Read Replicas is built to ensure continuous operation through automatic failover and enhanced read capacity. This feature will launch across 19 AWS regions this month, providing options for customers looking to optimize their data handling capabilities.
