GigaSpaces is previewing a telco-tailored version of its Cloudify open source orchestration platform, which will be ready for production next month.
Cloudify is open-sourced management and orchestration (MANO) software, and it uses the Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA).
Cloudify is giving attendees at the Open Platform Network Functions Virtualization (OPNFV) Summit in Berlin an early look at the Cloudify Telecom Edition. It’s intended to simplify the transition from physical to cloud-based networks and will allow users to orchestrate their network functions virtualization (NFV) deployments on hybrid infrastructures, including containers.
The Cloudify Telecom Edition will be delivered with the Aria TOSCA orchestration engine at its core, which is an open source reference implementation of TOSCA targeted for NFV users.
The Telecom Edition also includes new features such as NFV-specific plugins and blueprints showing how to mode VNFs and service function chaining.
It also includes functions such as NIC ordering, support for cloud native services through a Kubernetes plugin, OpenStack native support, and data plane acceleration through integration with Intel.
