Moore was thought to be in the running, along with another former president, Rob Lloyd, to replace Cisco CEO John Chambers when he retired earlier this year, but that job went to Chuck Robbins. Moore and Lloyd left Cisco in June.
Moore joined Cisco in 2001, and in 2011 he became the company’s first-ever chief operating officer. A year later, Moore was promoted to president in addition to his COO position.
Moore’s 30 years of boardroom and executive leadership will be assets to vArmour, which was founded four years ago.
In addition to Moore, Mountain View, California-based vArmour also added Meg McCarthy, Aetna executive vice president of operations and technology, to its board.
