The two are targeting small and midsized businesses as well as the remote offices of larger enterprises with the new hybrid storage, all-flash VxRail appliances, which they teased in the news last week. VxRail is being offered through EMC, its VCE subsidiary, and channel partners.
VxRail integrates virtualization, compute, storage, and data protection in one system. Organizations can start small with a couple of virtual machines (VMs) and scale to thousands.
VxRail appliances are loaded with integrated EMC data services including replication, backup, and cloud tiering to extend to more than 20 public clouds.
The appliances include VMware’s vSphere data protection and Virtual SAN. Customers also get a familiar experience with management through VMware’s vCenter Server.
