CrowdStrike acquired external attack surface management (EASM) provider Reposify to integrate into its Falcon platform and help customers identify exposed external assets.
Reposify’s EASM platform “scans the internet for vulnerabilities in exposed assets to identify and eliminate risk across your organization,” CrowdStrike co-founder and CEO George Kurtz said during his speech at today’s Fal.Con 2022 event.
Israel-based Repsoify was founded by Yaron Tal in 2017. Its core technology is to use one of the largest databases of internet-facing assets to help customers view their external attack surface with a click of a button.
“We built Reposify to enable organizations on a global scale to have visibility into the unprotected assets from the vantage point of attackers, and look forward to integrating our groundbreaking technology into the world-class CrowdStrike Falcon platform,” Reposify founder and CTO Yaron Tal said in a statement.
Gartner last year named Reposify as one of the emerging vendors in the EASM category.
“EASM is about understanding an organization's internet-facing assets, which attack vectors can be exploited,” CrowdStrike CTO Mike Sentonas said during the keynote speech. “This is incredibly important because your internet-facing assets are scattered across on premises, on cloud environments, [and] in third-party locations, your blind spots continue to grow and adversaries exploit this.”
Sentonas said Reposify’s platform uncovers billions of exposed assets every day and uses machine learning models to “generate actionable insights into each exposed asset by finding the data to eliminate false positives and create adaptive inventory making it easy to use.” Plus, the platform delivers insights into streamlined security operations and helps prioritize remediation, he added.
CrowdStrike plans to integrate this technology into its Falcon platform as an EASM module, Sentonas noted. “We're going to be talking about our vision for integrating into threat intelligence, integrating with Falcon Spotlight, with Falcon Discover, [and] Falcon horizon.”
