Cisco-owned AppDynamics is bringing its application performance monitoring platform to five new locations, including London, Hong Kong, Singapore, São Paulo, and Cape Town, South Africa

Acquired by Cisco for $3.7 billion in 2017, AppDynamics' software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform provides greater visibility into application performance, allowing development operations (DevOps) teams to identify and remediate issues before they impact customer experience.

According to AppDynamics the new locations not only expand the company’s addressable market but will also resolve potential data sovereignty and gravity concerns by making it easier for companies to keep their data in their country of origin.

The expansion is enabled in part by Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers where AppDynamics' platform is hosted.

The new locations bring AppDynamics' reach to a total of nine countries. The company has existing locations in Portland, Oregon; Frankfurt, Germany; Mumbai, India; and Sydney, Australia.

The Singapore and London locations are online now, while the remaining locations are scheduled to come online by July.

Today’s news comes just weeks after Cisco announced tight integrations between AppDynamics and ThousandEyes. The result is what Cisco calls a “full-stack observability platform,” which aims to eliminate blind spots holding up the adoption of SaaS, internet, and cloud services.

ThousandEyes, which Cisco acquired last year for $1 billion, expands AppDynamics monitoring capabilities to include network visibility. This the company argues enables NetOps and DevOps teams to more quickly identify and remediate issues regardless of whether they exist inside the app or at the network layer.
