Aryaka is expanding its hyperscale point-of-presence (PoP) footprint to bring its core network closer to its network users and is enhancing its SD-WAN offering based on its FlexCore multi-layered traffic steering architecture.

The new PoPs will provide lower latency access to sites and remote users, explained Klaus Schwegler, director of marketing at Aryaka. He said the expansion will enable more optionality for consuming Aryaka’s services at packaged bandwidth tiers for the vendor’s private core network, for an optimized layer-2 and layer-3 backbone, and in incremental bandwidth speeds with “flexible mix-and-match choices.”

“There will be simpler navigation and more options to drill-down into the status of a customer’s SD-WAN deployment, which allows for a more comprehensive view,” Schwegler explained.

The PoPs will provide unified policy enforcement, and fast-access cloud on-ramps and software-as-a-serice (SaaS) applications in more areas, and will allow better support of regulatory and data residency requirements specific to each region or country.

“We are getting closer to users in more business metros providing even lower latency access and meeting local regulatory requirements,” Schwegler told SDxCentral. “As a core element of our single-pass architecture distributed data plane, it enables us to enforce network and security policies closer to hybrid workforce users.”

Aryaka plans to establish 27 new PoPs in 21 countries and in 15 major metropolitan areas over the next couple of years.

Schwegler said a PoP-based infrastructure is “foundational” for delivering its cloud-based converged network and security services – specifically its secure access service edge (SASE) technology. The vendor took another step forward on its roadmap for unified SASE in October with the addition of a secure web gateway-as-a-service (SWGaaS).

Aryaka’s strategy is to deploy SASE capabilities across all of its hyperscale PoPs, which can be managed via its AppAssure product. The AppAssure technology will be deployed to provide insights into jitter, latency, and loss per-app and per-user for both on-site and remote users.

The vendor said it will deploy AppAssure across all current and new PoPs to enable “SaaS acceleration for improved application performance for increasingly hybrid workforces.”

Schwegler added with the expansion, “Aryaka will enable customers to consume SASE and enforce uniform policies for a hybrid workforce closer where they are without compromising application performance."
