Network performance provider Accedian acquired Performance Vision, a France-based application performance monitoring (APM) and network performance monitoring (NPM) vendor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Performance Vision’s APM/NPM technology — particularly its end-user digital experience monitoring capabilities and its wire data analytics — will be integrated into Accedian’s Skylight monitoring platform.
Skylight is a virtualized network services platform that provides service activation testing, network fault isolation, bandwidth monitoring, and service assurance functions. It also applies network functions virtualization (NFV) monitoring capabilities at various locations including on premises, at a central location, or at the network core.
The integrated and combined platform will create more complete visibility into applications, transactions, and other network components as it analyzes all traffic crossing physical, virtual, cloud, and software-defined networking (SDN) infrastructure.
Performance Vision’s wire data analytics technology offers granular data on both application and network performance in real-time, and precise monitoring of quality of service (QoS).
The combined Accedian and Performance Vision platform is completely virtual and unifies the network capabilities that are normally distributed across products and software.
As part of the acquisition, Performance Vision’s NPM/APM software will be rebranded as Skylight PVX.
Performance Vision was founded in 2004 and raised $1.9 million in its Series A funding round, according to Crunchbase. Its technology is used by a number of global enterprise customers including Orange, KPMG, and the French Ministry of the Interior. Its technology is used for both IT services and as hosted APM/NPM.
This acquisition marks part of Accedian’s push to support wider reach and greater revenue in its enterprise business. Accedian, itself, was acquired in May 2017 by Bridge Growth Partners, when the private equity firm bought out its principal backers and made a majority equity investment.
