Nuage Virtualized Services Platform – Delivering the Power of Now to Datacenter Networks and Beyond
The Nuage Virtualized Services Platform (VSP) is built on three key functions; Virtualized Services Directory (VSD) where the network services are turned into reusable policy templates to simplify application deployments, the Virtualized Services Controller (VSC) where network devices are programmed as is the network control plane, and the Virtualized Routing and Switching (VRS) which handles data forwarding.
This open platform solution makes integration with existing networks easy and supports any hypervisor, any data center switch and any cloud management system.
“Nuage Virtualized Services Platform – Delivering the Power of Now to Data Center Networks and Beyond” highlights the company’s Virtualized Services Platform (VSP), an open platform that allows organizations to automate network infrastructure. The video is the final installment in a series looking at how the company is removing the constraints holding back the cloud.
The video walks through how VSP automates and scales the network service layer by using policy-based service management. Designed to help organizations deliver dynamic network services with automated provisioning, VSP is comprised of three software-based products:
- Virtualized Services Directory (VSD): Turns network services into reusable policy templates to simplify application deployments
- Virtualized Services Controller (VSC): Programs network devices in the control plane
- Virtualized Routing and Switching (VRS): Handles data forwarding
Virtualized Services Platform solution integrates easily into existing networks and supports any hypervisor, data center switch, or cloud management system. The video explains how VSP deploys applications by using cloud orchestration software to instantiate new virtual machines in the data center.
By putting the focus back on the application and automating the instantiation of network services, organizations can make the network as instantly consumable as the application and compute platform functions, the video says. Using VSP enables organizations to create a virtualized network services layer that provides instant network service delivery to thousands of tenants.
