The Facts Matter: Swisscom and HPE’s Continued Relationship
Last year, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Swisscom announced a partnership on a vCPE project. On October 4th, LightReading published unsubstantiated claims based on anonymous sources, and ignoring Swisscom’s statements to the contrary, regarding the status of this relationship. The statements in the article regarding the vCPE project progress are completely false, and it is important for our community to have the facts. Below is a joint statement from HPE and Swisscom to clarify the project status and growing relationship.
“This story from Light Reading is not only inaccurate but also reveals Light Reading’s editorial bias for citing anonymous and unverified sources in order to generate clicks. To reiterate Swisscom’s original comment, the relationship between HPE and Swisscom remains unchanged; HPE continues to serve as a key vendor for Swisscom’s vCPE implementation and we intend to build on that partnership moving forward. We will further develop the joint vCPE solution together, including HPE Aruba zero touch provisioning networking solutions planned for production early 2017. So far our joint collaboration and innovation has been a success.” — Heinz Herren, CTO/CIO, Swisscom and David Sliter, VP and GM, Communications Solutions Business, HPE
