The OpenIMSCore Project
OpenIMS was started in 2004 by Fraunhofer FOKUS. In 2006 it was published as Open Source and quickly became a reference for the NGN/IMS community. Between 2008 and 2013, while the original development team took on the challenge of creating OpenEPC, the Kamailio team has imported the modules into the much updated SIP-Router development tree. From 2015, in parallel with development of the OpenEPC++ commercial-grade products, Core Network Dynamics took over the Open IMS Core project towards commercial-ready solutions for VoLTE.
