Z-Series Packet-Optical Transport Platform
The Z-Series P-OTP family helps network operators scale their infrastructure with improved operational and capital efficiency. The Z-Series P-OTP modularly integrates switching and transport for Carrier Ethernet, OTN, SONET/SDH and DWDM in a single network element. This multi-layer integration offers the flexibility to transport services using the most efficient network layer, providing a distinct cost and performance advantage compared to overlay designs.
The Z-Series platforms are recognized for scalability, with designs supporting over 100 Gbps per service module slot and 2.8 Tbps per shelf, for an easy migration to 100GbE and ODU4 services. The Z-Series family consists of the edge-optimized, 2RU Z22 (200 Gbps capacity), the 5RU Z33 (600 Gbps capacity) for scalable aggregation applications, and the larger 13RU Z77 (2.8 Tbps capacity), optimized for high-capacity aggregation and core deployments. The Z22 and Z33 are also temperature hardened (-40 to +65 C) to support outside plant deployments.
When combined with the carrier-grade Blue Planet platform and applications, the Z-Series platforms enable true software-defined metro, DCI and wide area networks.
