Virtuora Service Orchestrator
Managing the NFV service lifecycle requires a custom environment that effectively accounts for and manages the Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVI). Virtuora Service Orchestrator manages physical, virtual, and software resources—from beginning to end. With Virtuora Service Orchestrator, you can:
■ Use open REST APIs to easily integrate Service Orchestrator with other BSS/OSS applications and with overall business process workflow.
■ Expose physical and virtual resources to other management systems.
■ Gain a high-level visualization of the network’s current state with the Virtuora Service Orchestrator dashboard.
■ Create, maintain, keep track of, and tear down virtual machines from physical resources.
■ Use resource monitoring to determine if all hardware, software and virtual resources are working as expected
Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) such as routers, switches, firewalls, or intrusion detection systems can be managed with Virtuora Service Orchestrator:
■ Create, maintain, and terminate VNF instances.
■ Keep track of VNF turn-up, licensing, and security management.
■ Scale VNFs up or down based on current demand. Add VNF instances on the fly with “auto-scaling“ without requiring service provider interaction or intercession.
■ Gain consistency and service velocity with best-of-breed VNF integration and an open ecosystem for third-party VNFs that focuses on carrier grade access, services, automation, and simplified management.
Virtuora Service Orchestrator lets you easily associate network resources with services delivered to the end customer, enabling reliable service chaining and simplified troubleshooting:
■ Gain visibility into the topology of network service instances.
■ Coordinate, authorize, release, and engage resources among different points of presence.
■ Design and clone services quickly to accommodate the different types of resources that may be available in the different data centers.
■ Instantiate virtual network function managers as needed.
■ Create end-to-end services between different VNFs.
■ Monitor service faults and statistics.
