Vello CX solutions are carrier grade and support both Ethernet and optical interfaces. They are typically used by organizations to connect remote data centers together using optical fiber. They work with VellOS to create highly resilient, programmable, low latency network environments that are ideal for organizations seeking to run latency-sensitive mission-critical applications between remote data centers.
The Vello CX4000 is a 5-slot, high-density 10G solution ideal for data centers with limited rack space. The appliance supports multiple resiliency levels, including transparent uplink and WAN failover. Vello CXs can be interconnected over long distances via up to 15 fibre channel inter-switch links, 1/10GbE or via 40GbE QSFP+ interfaces. WAN deployments typically combine the Vello CX4000 with the single slot Vello CX50T 5-port SFP / SFP + network I/O module to deliver ultra low-latency connectivity (sub 5ns).
The Vello CX16000 is a 17-slot modular chassis. One shelf of the Vello CX16000 can support up to 800 Gbps (80x10Gbe, OC-192 or STM-64) 16 of the 17 slots can be configured with any module without slot assignment restrictions. Multiple shelves can be interconnected to form a multiple chassis node.
