Nokia Airframe Data Center Solution offers future proof cloud architecture from a single server to Hyperscale design. This innovative and cost effective solution design inspired by the telco and IT convergence and the need to support a diverse range of demanding applications.
Nokia officially joined the Open Compute Project (OCP) in November 2015, launching its AirFrame Data Center Solution based on OCP principles. Data center optimization is important for customers, and therefore Nokia offerings include two parallel data center form factors: ultra-dense rackmount servers with easy downward scalability for distributed data centers, and an OCP form factor for hardware optimization, reduced footprint of energy consumption, and enhanced serviceability.
OCP has brought up blueprints for compute, storage and networking that are derived directly from hyper-scaleinnovations. This means increased efficiency, cooling and power usage effectiveness (PUE) as key for data center innovation. Lower cost of operation is supported by the following elements as well: Automation of operations enabled by the hardware, tool-less serviceability, maintenance operations from the front to enable strict hot aisle containment. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is proven decreased due to the above design factors.
