ProgrammableFlow Controller PF6800
The award-winning NEC ProgrammableFlow PF6800 Controller provides a high performance, fabric-based Software Defined Network (SDN) with advanced network automation, control and flexibility, enabling full network virtualization and secure, multi-tenant networks. Deployed in over 100 customers globally, the ProgrammableFlow Controller provisions and controls virtual networks over a multi-path network fabric, providing end-to-end network visibility and automated network-wide policy that responds dynamically and adapts to changing needs of the business.
ProgrammableFlow RESTful interfaces integrate with OpenStack and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager for centralized network orchestration and integration with other IT services. NEC also offers an ecosystem of network services provided through the NEC Application Center, including SDN-based security, optimization and network management. Interoperability with the PF6800 controller and a broad spectrum of vendor switches has been demonstrated at multiple PlugFests, and repeatedly at Interop, including switches from Dell, Extreme Networks and IBM, among others.
NEC’s Virtual Tenant Network (VTN) virtualization technology allows administrators to build networks with unfettered virtual machine migration, enabling rapid scaleout of new applications, and enables balanced workloads and higher levels of availability. NEC contributed the Virtual Tenant Network source code to OpenDaylight project, a collaborative open source SDN Controller, to provide customers and partners consistent APIs across platforms.
