Metaswitch Voice over LTE
Description | About Metaswitch Voice-Over-LTEWith greater service flexibility and increased resource efficiencies, the benefits of a converged IP multimedia communications architecture are clear. But network operators have struggled to justify the zero-day price tag and address the complexities associated with replacing their legacy, circuit-switched voice infrastructures with packet-based VoLTE, leaving them exposed to competitive low-cost or no-cost OTT alternatives. The reasons for delaying voice migration from circuit- to packet-switched infrastructures were once numerous but are now increasingly immaterial. Spotty 4G coverage requiring complex voice call continuity solutions, handsets lacking the processing power to adequately support VoIP clients, expensive infrastructure upgrades and the need to secure them led carriers to delay critical upgrades. As the recognized industry leader in delivering multimedia communications services from any device over any access network infrastructure, Metaswitch is the ideal choice when migrating to VoLTE. Our consumer communications feature set removes classic barriers to deployment and enables network operators to finally realize the benefits of converged IP multimedia infrastructures. Metaswitch voice and video over LTE solutions are anchored by our open source IMS core implementation, crafted using Web methods specifically for the cloud, including key IMS elements such as the I-CSCF, S-CSCF and BGCF along with an offline charging trigger function and an HSS Mirror. Our 100% software-based, fully virtualized Session Border Controller delivers security and interworking for packet voice (VoIP) access or interconnect points, along with fulfilling the role of IMS P-CSCF. Together with the application server, you can anchor media calls for SR-VCC. When delivering an overlay or pure-play VoWiFi and mVoIP offering, our softphone client provides high quality, high-definition voice services over noisy, lossy or congested public Wi-Fi or low-bandwidth 4G data paths. |
