Mellanox Spectrum™ Open Ethernet Switches
The Mellanox Spectrum Open Ethernet switch family delivers the highest performance and port density with a complete chassis and fabric management solution enabling converged data centers to operate at any scale while reducing operational costs and infrastructure complexity. Based on Mellanox’s own switch Silicon Spectrum that features zero packet loss at any packet size, 300ns low and consistent latency, high microburst absorption capability and fairness, this family includes a broad portfolio of Top-of-Rack (TOR) switches that range from 12 to 64 ports, with Ethernet data rates of 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE, 50GbE, 56GbE and 100GbE per port. These switches allow the building of cost-effective and scalable switch fabrics, from a few nodes to tens-of-thousands of nodes.
Spectrum has rich and comprehensive support for SDN. Through Cumulus Linux, Spectrum supports VTEP gateway and interoperability with mainstream overlay SDN controller solutions such as VMware NSX, Nuage VSP, OpenContrail, Midokura MidoNet, and cloud management platforms such as OpenStack. Through MLNX-OS, Spectrum supports both OpenFlow 1.3 and OpenFlow 1.0 to enable interworking with SDN software from OpenDaylight, ONOS, and OpenCORD initiatives.
Spectrum is OCP compatible with support for ONIE, Switchdev, and SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface) standard interfaces.
