SecoManager, a security controller designed for virtualization scenarios, is used in Huawei SDSec solution. The SecoManager coordinates hardware and software security components to achieve unified orchestration and management of security policies across multiple clouds and branch networks, ensuring policy consistency on the entire network.
The SDSec solution uses network as the detection and policy execution point. The solution can drill down network behavior data through network-wide monitoring. Then, deep neural network algorithms and machine learning technologies are used to achieve self learning of threats using artificial intelligence (AI). Software-defined technologies can coordinate network-wide devices to prevent the lateral movement of threats in virtual environments.

AI-based Proactive Detection
Huawei SDSec solution collects network-wide traffic and log data and identifies potential threats using deep learning technologies. The solution transforms passive defense to proactive defense, significantly improves the network threat detection capability of enterprises, reduces the mean time to detect (MTTD) to by 90%, and improves the comprehensive detection rate to 95% and above.
The collaboration between software-defined network and software-defined security intelligently detects and identifies network-wide traffic forwarding paths and isolates infected hosts or blocks specific threats. Intelligent prevention upgrades single point of defense to network-wide defense and reduces mean time to respond (MTTR) by 90%, minimizing losses caused by threats.
Business-driven Automatic O&M
The SecoManager security controller interworks with the Agile Controller to achieve unified security service orchestration and policy management. The machine learning function automatically generates and deploys policies based on services to transform manual O&M to intelligent O&M, reducing O&M cost by more than 80%.
