Huawei CloudCampus AP8050DN & AP8150DN Access Points
Huawei AP8050DN and AP8150DN are latest-generation 802.11ac wave 2 outdoor access points (APs) that support 2 x 2 MU-MIMO and two spatial streams and offer high flexibility with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac compliance. Both APs are physically hardened and feature enhanced outdoor coverage performance. They offer services simultaneously on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios to connect more users, support wireless bridging, built-in Bluetooth (BLE4.1), and provide gigabit access for wireless users. The AP8050DN andAP8150DN provide comprehensive service support capabilities and feature high reliability, high security, simple network deployment, automatic Access Controller (AC) discovery and configuration, and real-time management and maintenance, which meet outdoor network requirements. They are recommended for use in coverage scenarios (for example, high-density stadiums, squares, pedestrian streets, and amusement parks) and bridging scenarios (for example, wireless harbors, data backhaul, video surveillance, and train-to-ground backhaul).

SmartRadio: Intelligent Dynamic Frequency Adjustment
Adjacent-channel and co-channel signal interference can be automatically detected. The working frequency band, radios (dual-5G or 5G+2.4G radios), channels, transmit power, and bandwidth of APs can be dynamically adjusted and optimized to reduce interference on the 2.4 GHz band in scenarios where APs are densely deployed. The advantages of the 5 GHz band can be better leveraged to enable self-optimization of WLANs and improve user experience on congested frequency bands. After frequency adjustment, the network capacity (throughput) can increase by more than 30%.
SmartRadio: Intelligent Roaming and Load Balancing
The traditional air interface load-balancing algorithm enables network load balancing only after initial access of STAs. For STA roaming scenarios, Huawei applies the intelligent roaming and load-balancing algorithm to identify sticky STAs that associate with remote APs and have poor user experience. With the Huawei system, APs communicate and negotiate with each other, and automatically steer users to neighboring APs. This technique optimizes the experience of 80% of STAs that exhibit weak signal coverage during roaming.
SmartRadio: Intelligent Conflict Optimization
The air interface resource usage may be low due to random channel contention and preemption of a single AP. This can happen during audio and video traffic bursts, when the air interface may be congested because of a random fixed window, which deteriorates user experience. Huawei’s exclusive intelligent conflict optimization algorithm proactively identifies audio and video applications to detect potential conflicts based on the number of access users. The backoff duration (sliding window size) can then be automatically adjusted when STAs encounter conflicts. This algorithm improves the utilization of air interface resources and enhances the experience of each user by 15% compared with mainstream optimization algorithms used in the industry.
