Freescale VortiQa Open Network (ON) Director Software
VortiQa open network (ON) director software is commercial-grade, OpenFlow™ protocol compliant control plane software optimized to leverage QorIQ communications platforms with applications integration. It is OpenFlow version 1.3.x compliant and has extensions to support Layer 3 and above protocol functions such as Firewall/NAT, IPsec VPN and QoS in addition to Layer 2 and Layer 3 data forwarding.
VortiQa ON director software enables customers to incorporate OpenFlow software-defined networking (SDN) control plane and application functions in their advanced networking designs, based on Freescale QorIQ communications processors in a cost-effective and timely manner. This product interoperates with third party OpenFlow compliant switches as per the OpenFlow v1.3.x specification. Customers can build their applications by utilizing VortiQa ON director software north bound (NB) API implemented in C language. Additionally the product is pre-integrated with selective popular Linux® networking functions so that customers can utilize them in their designs. The product is easily portable across a range of QoIQ processors.
Freescale offers commercial support and services around the product to jump-start customer designs there by offering further time-to-market and time-to-revenue advantages.
