FlowEngine software runs on Radisys’ high-performance Traffic Distribution Engine (TDE) platforms, including the TDE-2000, TDE-1000 and TDE-500. The FlowEngine TDE-2000 is an advanced high-performance carrier-grade open network switch, with unique packet flow classification and security features designed to reduce network complexity and accelerate new SDN, NFV, 5G and IoT service introductions, while delivering CapEx and OpEx savings.
The FlowEngine TDE-2000 platform features 2.0 Tbps L2-L3 and 600 Gbps of bidirectional flow-based intelligent load balancing with additional capacity for L4-L5 subscriber and user services. FlowEngine TDE-2000 is the new flagship offering in Radisys’ FlowEngine TDE portfolio, leveraging programmable network processors which makes it easy to add new features moving forward. It is designed to open standards, and brings together switching, load balancing, security and routing functionality under open policy control. The FlowEngine TDE-2000 also enables Service Function Chaining (SFC) functionality for distribution of traffic flows through a programmable sequence of virtualized network functions (VNFs).
The FlowEngine TDE-2000 is delivered in a 1RU platform, making it flexible for deployment in multiple environments. The platform supports a standards-based OpenFlow interface for flexible integration with SDN orchestrators including OpenDaylight and ONOS controllers for support of multiple architectures. In addition, the FlowEngine TDE-2000 also supports control planes and interfaces based on REST/NETCONF/YANG and is designed to support LinuxTC (Traffic Control).
The FlowEngine TDE-1000 is designed for data center and telecommunications environments that demand high network throughput, scalability and guaranteed performance in a compact form factor. It delivers wire speed IP packet classification and flow-based load balancing in a turnkey stand-alone 3U platform and is capable of distributing up to 1.2 Tbps of aggregate traffic across any third-party NFV infrastructure.
The TDE-500 platform offers maximum SDN and NFV deployment flexibility for either distributed edge sites or core data center networks. It also provides the option to fuse together on-board SDN controller technology and value-added virtualized network services like network analytics. The TDE-500 platform, coupled with intelligent FlowEngine software, provides service providers with maximum flexibility and choice to address the diverse requirements in their SDN and NFV deployments.
