ETX-2i vCPE Platform
RAD’s flexible vCPE offering supports virtualization at the customer edge and in the network and includes virtualization devices, physical CPE (pCPE) devices, pluggable devices to enhance server functionality and performance, and management and orchestration (MANO) for the customer edge. It is enriched by the RAD D-NFV Alliance, an ecosystem of vendors and international system integrators specializing in new NFV applications.
The cornerstone of the solution is the ETX-2i, a flexible vCPE platform integrating a powerful IP and Carrier Ethernet NID/NTU with a field pluggable x86 NFV module for hosting virtualized network functions (VNFs) from various vendors. It offers state-of-the-art traffic management, full end-to-end service control and monitoring, service turn-up, and full diagnostics. It also supports various options for vCPE architecture and VNF placement to meet agility, performance, security, and cost needs. The ETX-2i is managed by any third-party orchestrator using open standards, or by the RADview D-NFV Orchestrator. RADview converges the management of both physical and virtualized entities and provides lifecycle management for the virtualized customer edge, including planning, provisioning and performance monitoring. It features open interfaces to accommodate third-party end-to-end network orchestrators. In addition, the patented MiNID® provides pCPE functionality as a pluggable, miniature L2/L3 NID connecting to a COTS server to provide network connectivity and service demarcation.
