The A10 Harmony™ Controller is suited for multi-cloud application and security management. The Controller delivers centralized management and analytics for secure application services in any underlying infrastructure — from traditional on-premise environments to public, private and hybrid clouds. The controller manages A10 ADC instances and other A10 services that implement and enforce policies. The solution collects, analyzes and reports on traffic flowing across A10’s portfolio.
The A10 Harmony™ Controller delivers centralized management and analytics for secure application services across traditional on-premise data centers to public, private and hybrid clouds. The Harmony Controller manages A10 application delivery controller (ADC) instances and other A10 services that implement and enforce policies. Harmony Controller collects, analyzes and reports on traffic flowing through A10 Lightning ADCs and opensource third-party platforms, including HAProxy load balancers.
|Leading Verticals||Financials, Government & Education, Healthcare and Retail|
|Solution Classification||Cloud Management Platform|
|CMPs Supported||OpenStack, VMware (vRealize), Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure|
The Harmony Controller resides between load balancing, application delivery and Web application firewall for complete policy management, configuration and control functions. A10’s Harmony Controller provides a multi-tenant ADC service and incorporates real-time analytics on a per-application level and centrally manages the orchestration of app services in hybrid clouds. Harmony Controller can be spun up anywhere in the hybrid cloud environment.
The A10 Harmony Controller is deployed in a Kubernetes container. Users can deploy A10 Lightning ADC instances in Docker containers. This makes the deployment independent of underlying infrastructure and Lightning ADC can be deployed near the application servers regardless where the servers are deployed. With 100 percent RESTful API coverage, all application services are programmable and enable automation and integration with DevOps processes.
|Enterprise Directory Integration||LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory|
|Performance and Scalability||
The controller’s multi-tenancy design enables IT teams to offer software-as-a-service (SaaS) to their internal or external customers. The tenants can easily provision infrastructure and maintain control with per-app policies. The controller continuously collects metrics on a per-app basis, consolidates and correlates them in a ‘big data repository’ and provides actionable intelligence. The controller’s microservices design delivers highly available and scalable control and analytics functions. The controller deployment can be scaled without service disruption or replacing software as required by appliance-based approaches. The controller integrates with HAProxy, as enterprises turn to free software for services.
The Harmony Controller features web application firewalls (WAF) and application DDoS. Additionally, Harmony supports Botnet protection and IP reputation to block known bad source IPs. The WAF signatures are categorized into specific applications, such as WordPress, to easily tune the protection for a specific application. The Harmony analytics security dashboard displays number of threats detected, trending threats and blocked attacks. It also shows top surge protection and black list.
|Storage Services Support||
For the Harmony SaaS Controller, storage is included. For Harmony self-managed Controller, the customer provides storage.
|Networking Services Support||
The Harmony Controller is a software solution and the networking services are part of public cloud service provider.
