SDxCentral has officially been acquired by InfraXmedia — the B2B media company that also owns Data Center Dynamics (DCD), Yotta and Data Center Nation — a move that ensures the work we’ve built over the last 13 years continues, expands, and thrives.
But let’s start with the most important point:
SDxCentral isn’t going anywhere.
The InfraX and DCD teams are not only preserving the SDxCentral brand — they’re investing in it. You’ll soon see a refreshed design that aligns with DCD’s global platform. Behind the scenes, they’re expanding editorial coverage, deepening infrastructure research, and doubling down on delivering timely, trustworthy insight for the enterprise technology ecosystem.
A Moment of Gratitude
When Roy Chua and I launched SDxCentral (then SDNCentral) in 2011, we were just trying to make sense of a fast-changing industry. Software-defined networking was the spark, but the real story was about cloud, infrastructure, and how decision-making was shifting.
Roy’s wit, vision, and relentless drive helped shape our early voice. While he stepped away in 2018, his influence helped shape the tone and ambition that carried us forward.
I also want to thank the incredible team that helped power SDxCentral — each of whom has been with us for more than six years:
Katherine Mechler, who led product and marketing here and continues that work at Wiretap Labs with me;
Dan Meyer, our editorial lead and voice of the platform, who now continues with the InfraXmedia team;
It’s been a privilege to work with each of them.
What’s Not Changing — and What Is
SDxCentral is here to stay
The site, the content, and the community aren’t going anywhere.
Your SDxCentral account is staying exactly the same. You’ll continue receiving the same newsletters and alerts, and your login works just like it always has — no action required.
Dan Meyer continues the editorial voice
Our longtime editorial lead, Dan Meyer, has officially joined the InfraXmedia and DCD teams — working alongside Sebastian Moss, DCD’s editor-in-chief. Together, they’re growing the team and expanding coverage across cloud, AI, telco, and enterprise infrastructure.
You’ll notice a new look — and more
In the coming weeks, SDxCentral will get a UI refresh to align with DCD’s existing platform — with improved access to articles, research, and upcoming events. The goal: deeper insight and better coverage without disrupting what already works.
Why SDxCentral + DCD Makes Sense
Our relationship with DCD has evolved over the last few years. What started as a shared appreciation has become a clear strategic fit.
I’ve come to deeply admire George Rockett’s long-term vision for how infrastructure insight needs to evolve — and Dan Loosemore’s thoughtful execution of that vision across platforms, events, and content.
DCD has always understood that the modern data center doesn’t exist in isolation. Cloud, networking, AI, and edge computing are deeply interdependent. And as the pace of change accelerates, the infrastructure world needs better tools and trusted coverage to keep up.
That’s where SDxCentral has always focused — and that’s why DCD is the right long-term partner.
What About Me?
With this transition, I’ll be stepping fully into my next chapter — leading Wiretap Labs, a new platform built for IT decision makers navigating what’s next in enterprise infrastructure.
A Long-Term Partnership with InfraXmedia
We’re forming a strategic partnership with InfraX to bring next-generation research tools into their platform.
As part of that, DCD and SDxCentral will begin using StringerAI — our structured content engine that monitors more than 2,400 companies, open-source projects, and research institutions — to surface real-time answers, coverage, and signals for both human readers and AI agents.
This ensures both brands can maintain — and expand — the editorial breadth and intelligence SDxCentral was known for, while extending it to new domains across the infrastructure stack.
What’s Next: Decision Insights
Decision Insights is the next evolution of structured research and vendor intelligence
It brings together:
- A comprehensive directory of companies, open-source projects, universities, nonprofits, and standards bodies
- Tech Terms, our evolving glossary, built to power both human and AI research
- StringerAI, which interprets updates across the ecosystem and generates structured, authoritative answers
- Decision Insights is currently in beta, but you may see the occasional email in the coming weeks with early access invites. If you had an SDxCentral account, you already have access — no action needed.

To our Community — Thank You
Over the past 13 years, SDxCentral has published more than 20,000 articles and 1,500 videos, helping shape how this industry sees the future. We’ve worked hard to deliver content that’s authoritative, structured, and vendor-agnostic — and that work isn’t ending. It’s just evolving.
To our customers, contributors, engineers, analysts, operators, strategists, marketers, and supporters:
Thank you.
We’re excited for what’s next.
Let’s go.
