ZEDEDA announces significant growth for 2024, reporting that it has doubled both its revenue and the number of edge nodes under management. This surge reflects the company's successful expansion across various industries, including energy, transportation, manufacturing, retail, and agriculture, driven by an increasing adoption of edge computing technologies.
CEO and founder, Said Ouissal, noted, “Edge AI and computing have reached an inflection point, and our success in several new verticals is an indicator of a maturing market and the broad customer demand for edge computing platforms. Our growth demonstrates that enterprises are ready to move beyond proof-of-concept to deploy edge platforms at scale.” Gartner projects that 30% of enterprises will utilize edge computing platform services by 2029, with at least 60% of edge deployments expected to incorporate composite AI technologies. These predictions highlight the increasing strategic value of edge computing within businesses. To fuel its expansion, ZEDEDA secured a $72 million Series C funding round led by Smith Point Capital and former Salesforce Co-CEO Keith Block. This round included new investments from several firms and reinforced ZEDEDA’s operational team by appointing notable figures such as Lisa Edwards to its board. The company also established a new headquarters in Abu Dhabi, signifying its growth in the Middle East and enhancing local operational capabilities with new cloud services. The year also saw the introduction of innovations like ISO 27001 certification for security standards and the launch of Edge Sync, a solution allowing management of edge deployments in disconnected environments. The company continues to see a substantial rise in Kubernetes deployments due to the introduction of its managed Kubernetes service tailored for edge computing. Partnering with firms like OnLogic for rugged hardware and Edge Impulse for enhanced AI capabilities, ZEDEDA has expanded its partner ecosystem to support its ambitious growth. Its developments promise to pave the way for a solid future in edge computing, meeting evolving business needs across various sectors.
