Vonage partnered with agentic vendor C3 AI to launch APIs for mobile enterprise field operations.

Under the deal, a dedicated field services module within C3’s AI Asset Performance Suite will feature integration with voice and video communications APIs from Vonage alongside network APIs, specifically the quality-on-demand (QoD) and verify offerings from the Ericsson API arm.

The partnership was framed as supporting application-aware networking, with APIs applied to support critical field service workflows such as coordination of remote personnel, vehicles, and equipment to support customer installations and maintenance operations.

Typical challenges in the field can include the complexity barrier of some equipment, as well as fragmented information, skill shortages, and lack of on-demand guidance. The downstream effects can impact telecom providers, industrial manufacturers, health device providers, and energy firms, who often rely on service technicians in the field.

With issues such as delayed issue resolution, increased asset downtime, increased total cost of ownership (TCO), and inconsistencies in operations and compliance, the APIs were presented as improving first-time fix rates, safety compliance, and even skill development for personnel.

Under the hood, Vonage’s tools will drive C3’s mobile-first AI agents to deliver real-time insights, interactive step-by-step assistance, and seamless connectivity with AI and human remote experts through voice and video channels. Of these APIs, QoD will be the first to be showcased as part of the integration, which is designed to deliver high network performance in spite of use in areas of heavy network congestion.

"Together with C3 AI, we're redefining the future of field services by equipping technicians with trusted, mobile-first AI agents and reliable connectivity," Christophe Van de Weyer, president and head of business unit API at Vonage, explained. "As a leader in network-powered solutions, Vonage is driving the next generation of AI-first, business-critical enterprise applications. This partnership highlights the transformative potential of quality-on-demand and real-time network intelligence, setting new standards for trust, safety, and innovation in enterprise solutions."

"The future of work in mission-critical operations will be defined by intelligence embedded at the point of execution," Nikhil Krishnan, CTO for data science at C3 AI, added. "With Vonage, we're extending our enterprise applications to support field technicians and engineers – helping organizations accelerate resolution, improve safety, and deliver consistent service at scale."
