VIAVI Solutions Inc. has unveiled its new 800G transport module for the OneAdvisor 800 platform, which is designed to provide integrated testing capabilities for high-speed fiber networks. The module will be displayed at the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference and Exposition in San Francisco from April 1-3, 2025.

As the demand for high-speed applications fueled by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning increases, service providers are pushing for advancements in fiber and transport technologies. The 800G transport module builds on the capabilities of the OneAdvisor 800, offering comprehensive testing features, automated guidance, and configurations to assist technicians in installing and maintaining high-capacity networks.

With a focus on field use, OneAdvisor 800 is equipped with robust battery life and effective heat dissipation, making it suitable for various settings, including metro/core networks and data center interconnects. “As emerging applications such as IoT, AI, and cloud computing place unprecedented strain on networks, technicians need fast and accurate certification of data center cablings for 800G,” stated Kevin Oliver, Vice President and General Manager, Fiber and Access Solutions, VIAVI.

The new transport module supports both traditional AOC/DAC and new AEC/ACC tests, providing versatility for users. Integrated OTDR for troubleshooting and OSA for DWDM analysis are also available, ensuring technicians have multiple resources at their disposal. The module is compatible with both QSFP and OSFP form factors, which are increasingly relevant in 800G applications.

Since its introduction in 2020, OneAdvisor 800 has expanded its modular test capabilities, accommodating a wide range of transport, wireless/RF, and fiber optic environments. With the addition of 800G testing capabilities, VIAVI expands its offering of solutions for 800G and beyond, supporting optical network component qualifications and production up to 1.6T.
