Veeam Software has announced the launch of Kasten for Kubernetes v7.5, aimed at enhancing data resilience for enterprises using Kubernetes-native solutions. This release introduces improvements in scalability, backup and restore times, and security features, while extending support to modern virtualization platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift.
According to Gaurav Rishi, Vice President of Product Management at Veeam, the new features in Kasten v7.5 respond to the evolving demands in modern virtualization. The enhanced support for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, along with initial support for SUSE Virtualization, reflects a broader trend towards flexibility in virtualization solutions.
Kasten v7.5 includes several key advancements. It addresses the need for unified protection of VMs and containerized applications, improves security measures against threats, and simplifies compliance with industry regulations. New functionalities such as FIPS support and immutable restore capabilities enhance cybersecurity efforts. Users can expect significant performance improvements, including a threefold decrease in backup time for substantial data volumes.
Collaboration with Infinidat and NetApp further strengthens this latest Kasten release. The integration with Infinidat’s InfiniBox enterprise storage enhances backup and recovery processes, while the partnership with NetApp facilitates advanced data protection solutions for Kubernetes environments.
In a market increasingly focused on comprehensive data protection strategies, Veeam Kasten aims to equip organizations with the necessary tools to protect their critical applications and data. This launch comes as Veeam Kasten has been recognized as a leader in the GigaOm Radar for Kubernetes Protection for the fifth consecutive time.
