Teradyne has entered into a strategic partnership with Infineon Technologies, aiming to acquire part of Infineon's automated test equipment (ATE) team located in Regensburg, Germany. This move is set to strengthen both companies' positions in the power semiconductor market.
The acquisition not only enhances Teradyne's capabilities but also allows Infineon to benefit from continued manufacturing support and increased flexibility for specialized test equipment. Infineon’s team, consisting of approximately 80 members at the Regensburg site, will be integrated into Teradyne’s Power Semiconductor business unit.
“We are thrilled to enter into this strategic partnership with Infineon,” said Rick Burns, President of the Semiconductor Test Group at Teradyne. “Acquiring and integrating Infineon’s technology and team in Regensburg will extend our leadership in the power semiconductor market.”
Alexander Gorski, Executive Vice President of Frontend Operations at Infineon, emphasized the collaboration: “Integrating our experienced workforce with Teradyne will help to accelerate innovation and address the dynamic test challenges in new technologies like silicon carbide and gallium nitride.”
This strategic partnership is anticipated to drive further development in power semiconductor testing technologies as both companies work together to meet increasing market demands.
