Teledyne HiRel Semiconductors has unveiled the TDSW050A2T, a new rad-tolerant RF switch capable of operating from DC to 50 GHz, designed to meet the stringent demands of aerospace and defense applications. This device, built using a 150nm pHEMT InGaAs process, stands out for its excellent RF performance across a broad frequency range, making it suited for complex space and defense environments.

The TDSW050A2T is compact, measuring 1.15 mm x 1.47 mm x 0.1 mm, and qualifies for an extended temperature range of –40⁰C to 85⁰C, consistent with MIL-PRF-38534 Class K for space applications. Available for immediate delivery, this switch offers low insertion loss, fast switching times, and 23 dB of port isolation at 50 GHz.

Mont Taylor, Vice President and Business Development Manager at Teledyne HiRel, commented, “Today, we’re releasing our latest wideband RF Switch for K bands and beyond. To meet the higher operating frequencies associated with many of today’s high reliability systems, this RF switch supports operation from true DC out to 50 GHz, making it an ideal solution for space, military, and defense applications.”

The TDSW050A2T RF Switch is radiation tolerant to 100 krad, making it suitable for satellite systems and is powered with minimal DC power consumption while maintaining high performance. These devices are available through Teledyne HiRel Semiconductors and authorized distributors, shipping from their DoD Trusted Facility in Milpitas, California.
