Tachyum announced that the software distribution for its Prodigy Universal Processor has entered the release candidate (RC1) testing phase. This integrated software stack is now accessible to selected early adopters and customers.
The software distribution package includes enhancements aimed at optimizing Prodigy’s performance. Key updates in RC1 feature GCC 14.2, Linux 6.12, LLVM 19, FreeBSD 14.1, and QEMU 9.11. It also provides users with an optimization guide and performance-tuning tools.
The distribution supports up to 1,024 cores in 4-socket configurations, ensuring Prodigy is ideal for a variety of enterprise applications such as supercomputing, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, and web hosting.
Tachyum has expanded its Prodigy Series to include new configurations, notably a version with 256 high-performance, 64-bit cores and 16 memory controllers that operate at DDR5-7200.
Dr. Radoslav Danilak, founder and CEO of Tachyum, stated, “As Tachyum continues to advance Prodigy towards full-scale production and distribution, moving its software distribution into release candidate stage further solidifies our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of the next-generation computing landscape.” Feedback from early-adopter partners during this phase is anticipated to optimize Prodigy for the demands of data centers.
Prodigy’s architecture allows seamless switching among computational domains, reducing capital and operational expenses while enhancing data center performance. This design integrates custom 64-bit cores, promising up to 18 times the performance of the best GPUs for AI applications.
A video demonstrating the software capabilities is available, showcasing various boot options and real-world applications including building packages and debugging.
