Solidigm has announced a multi-year extension of its partnership with Broadcom Inc. to continue utilizing Broadcom's high-capacity solid-state drive (SSD) controllers. This cooperation aims to enhance support for artificial intelligence (AI) and data-intensive workloads.

The collaboration, which spans over a decade, has seen Solidigm ship more than 120 million SSD units equipped with Broadcom controllers. The agreement includes efforts to further develop Solidigm’s new 122TB D5-P5336 data center SSD, touted as the world’s highest capacity PCI Express (PCIe) SSD, enhancing storage efficiency in data centers.

“With our new 122TB SSD, Solidigm further extends our high-capacity QLC leadership from 8 to 122TB drives that all share the same controller from Broadcom, making our drives easier for customers to qualify,” stated Solidigm Co-CEO Kevin Noh. Broadcom's Semiconductor Solutions Group President, Charlie Kawwas, emphasized the importance of this ongoing collaboration in delivering next-generation AI solutions.

The partnership not only continues to redefine storage capabilities but also aims to streamline the integration of AI infrastructure across various computing environments.
