SD-WAN vendors Silver Peak, Versa, Citrix, and Aruba announced new integrations to enhance connectivity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Silver Peak, Citrix, and Aruba's SD-WAN offerings gained support for AWS Transit Gateway network manager, which is designed to help enterprises visualize their deployments regardless of whether they live in the cloud or on premises.

"The new AWS Transit Gateway Network Manager will enable customers to centrally monitor and manage connectivity from on-premise EdgeConnect deployments to network devices on AWS, providing a global view of network telemetry, events, and changes to deliver the highest quality of experience to branch and remote site users," said David Hughes, founder and CEO of Silver Peak, in a statement.

Aruba claimed the integration would help simplify and streamline management of its SD-WAN deployments.

“The integration between Aruba’s SD-WAN solution and AWS Transit Gateway network manager uses the power of the cloud to seamlessly connect branches to workloads in any region by connecting to the closest AWS Transit Gateway, accelerate VPN connectivity for any branch bypassing the public internet, and deliver branch-to-branch connectivity in different AWS Regions,” said Kishore Seshadri, VP and GM of SD-WAN solutions at Aruba.

Citrix made similar claims lauding the technology's ability to tie together cloud and on-premises devices into a single unified view.

Versa Integrates Amazon VPC Ingress Routing

Versa, meanwhile, added support for Amazon's VPC Ingress Routing, a service designed to help customers apply network and security policy to cloud applications with greater granularity.

Using AWS VPC Ingress Routing, Versa claims customers will be able to define routing rules at the internet gateway and virtual private gateway to redirect ingress traffic to third-party applications before it reaches the final destination. Versa claims its implementation of VPC Ingress Routing also includes monitoring, application-aware routing, application-aware traffic optimization, and transport across MPLS, internet, 4G LTE, and DCA.

According to Atchison Frazer, worldwide head of marketing at Versa, this integration is ideal for businesses in the process of migrating workloads to AWS. "By provisioning Versa's SD-WAN network security and application optimization services across AWS, enterprises can get all the benefits of a carrier-grade SD-WAN solution for connectivity to multiple private-hybrid clouds," he said.

Joining the Club

The four join a number of SD-WAN vendors that have announced support for AWS' service offerings in recent months.

Yesterday, both Fortinet and Cisco announced support for VPC Ingress Routing, while SDN startup Pureport in early September announced support for AWS Transit Gateway.
