SEALSQ Corp has entered a strategic partnership with Hedera to develop quantum-resistant semiconductors aimed at enhancing security for critical infrastructures in the wake of evolving quantum threats. The company has begun quality testing for its QS7001 hardware, with production expected to start in 2025.
This collaboration, facilitated through The Hashgraph Group, focuses on addressing potential vulnerabilities in traditional cryptographic systems posed by advanced quantum computing capabilities. As quantum computers advance, they may be able to undermine public-key cryptography that safeguards digital transactions and signatures. SEALSQ's quantum-resistant chips are designed to integrate with Hedera’s decentralized network, ensuring resilience and security in an increasingly digital world.
SEALSQ plans to roll out its QS7001 Open Platform and QVault Trusted Platform Module in 2025, with ongoing validation to ensure compliance with high-security standards. The partnership aims to protect digital signatures and communication channels from quantum attacks while enhancing cryptographic methods moving towards post-quantum solutions.
By combining SEALSQ’s semiconductor innovations with Hedera’s crypto-secure ledger technology, the two entities aim to fortify defenses against the quantum threats posed by algorithms like Shor’s and Grover’s, which could compromise existing security frameworks.
This partnership signifies a commitment to innovation and the security of digital transactions in an era characterized by rapid technological advancement and potential quantum computing challenges.
