Barclays signed a portfolio license agreement with Broadcom to support its multi-year cross-organizational initiative to streamline its IT operations.

Microsoft expanded its security service, AccountGuard, to 12 new European markets.

Lanner partnered with netElastic to build a virtual broadband network gateway and virtual CPE.

Samsung selected Broadcom’s BCM4375 WiFi 6 chip for its new smartphone. Samsung also joined the O-RAN Alliance.

ZTE launched a 5G fronthaul 200G outdoor optical transport network (OTN) product that can be deployed at the metro edge layer.

Google Cloud updated its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered speech services, Cloud Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech, with new features, voices, and languages. It also lowered its prices.

Infinera launched an end-to-end network architecture for building self-optimizing networks.

Cloud Foundry discovered a critical security flaw impacting its Container Runtime products. The flaw leaks IAAS credentials.

TriggerMesh launched a new open source project, deemed Knative Lambda Sources or KLASS, for building multi-cloud, cloud native applications. The project leverages events services on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to trigger Knative and Kubernetes functions.

ADVA released a network operating system for bare metal switches built for telecom operators.

F5 Networks updated its NFV offerings to support 5G networks and the scale of existing 4G networks.

Accedian’s virtualized application and network performance management services achieved certification from VMware. It also partnered with Quali on cloud migration and 5G test automation for network slicing.

Dell Technologies launched ProConsult Advisory services that will help enterprises transform their businesses.

NEC completed trials for automated driving, testing its multi-edge computing (MEC) servers and base stations and its adaptive network control technology

NTT Data launched a 3D digital map package for the planning of 5G networks.

Mycom OSI launched a service assurance software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering built for carriers. The company was also selected by Red Hat to deliver service assurance for Red Hat’s virtual central office service.

Fleet management company Omnitracs tapped Red Hat — including its OpenShift, Ansible Tower, and expertise for its innovation labs — to develop new capabilities on its fleet management platform.

Redis Labs secured $60 million in a Series E funding round led by Francisco Partners.

Nokia upgraded its Anyhaul transport portfolio with a family of ultra-broadband transceivers, new optical and IP products for 5G fronthaul and edge cloud deployments, and a 25G PON proof of concept.

A10 Networks shipped a 100 Gb/s virtual machine for 5G secure application services on its convergent firewall.

Czech Republic-based internet service provider Grape upgraded to 25G 6Wind virtual routers. Grape replaced its Brocade Vyatta virtual routers.

Netskope added continuous security assessment and monitoring capabilities for GCP to its cloud security platform.

Internet intelligence company Expanse launched a cloud module to discover and track an organization’s cloud assets across multiple cloud providers.

Netsurion released a single managed security service that unifies endpoint threat detection and response, and security information and event management (SIEM) capabilities.

Security company Isara released new tools for the test and implementation of crypto-agility and quantum-safe cryptography.

Serverless startup Nuweba launched a beta program for designing serverless environments and secured $4.8 million in a seed funding round led by Magma Partners and Target Global.
