Scale Computing has a vacant role to fill following the departure of global channel chief Scott Mann.
Mann leaves the role following an 11 year stint at the edge computing firm. The exec wrote on Linkedin: “After a lot of reflection, I’m sharing that my journey at Scale Computing has come to an end. I joined Scale in 2014, and over the past decade+ I’ve had the privilege of growing alongside an incredible company – one that evolved from a bold idea into a global player, and one that shaped me deeply as a leader. From building channels and teams across regions, to navigating market shifts and scaling internationally, the experience has been nothing short of transformative.”
His next role was not announced, with a replacement yet to be announced by Scale.
Having started as a senior account executive for Scale’s Canada operations in 2014, Mann would become country manager for the region within the space of a year before leading North American channel operations in 2018. Four years later he would assume various VP roles in the global space, landing the managing director/vice president role of Scale Computing International in 2025.
That last stint saw Scale Computer acquired by edge and network firm Acumera in a bid to strengthen Acumera's position as a “market leader” in delivering scalable and integrated edge platforms for enterprises operating across distributed locations.
The combined company was rebranded last summer as Scale Computing, bringing together Scale’s virtualization and hardware offerings with Acumera’s AcuVigil platform.
Prior to the Acumera acquisition, Scale partnered with multicloud infrastructure and data protection provider Otava to deliver edge computing infrastructure solutions.
Founded in 2007, Scale Computing had previously raised more than $200 million across 11 funding rounds, with past investors counting the likes of Lenovo, Morgan Stanley, Elevate Ventures, Runways Growth Capital, and ABS Capital Partners.
