Render, a modern cloud application platform embraced by over 2 million developers, has successfully raised $80 million in Series C funding led by Georgian, with participation from 01A and avra. This new capital will enhance Render's enterprise capabilities, build AI-native compute infrastructure, and expand its global reach.
The substantial investment underscores the strong demand for simpler, more cost-effective alternatives to traditional cloud hyperscalers, allowing Render to disrupt the $400 billion cloud market. The company is set to enhance its research and development team as it ramps up its efforts to streamline cloud infrastructure for developers.
With more than 100,000 developers joining each month, Render is facilitating significant migrations of computing workloads from major providers including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, positioning itself as a powerful contender in the cloud computing space. Its recent acknowledgment in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Cloud Application Platforms further illustrates its rising influence.
Emily Walsh, Lead Investor at Georgian, noted, “Render’s fast-growing user base and quickly-expanding footprint... demonstrates not just the demand for its cloud platform but also Anurag and his team’s exceptional execution in capitalizing on this opportunity.”
According to Dick Costolo, Co-founder of 01A, Render is addressing critical needs in the market by simplifying cloud infrastructure management, thus allowing companies to concentrate on innovation rather than IT complexities. Anu Hariharan from avra expressed confidence in Render's ability to redefine developer experiences in the cloud landscape.
Anurag Goel, founder and CEO of Render, emphasized that the company's automated cloud services are designed to support seamless scalability, reducing the dependency on extensive engineering teams for traditional cloud management. This investment will reinforce Render's commitment to providing a streamlined, developer-focused platform for the next generation of applications.
