Not days after its mega-acquisition of CyberArk saw closure, Palo Alto Networks has begun laying off staff at the Israel-headquartered security firm.

According to Calistech, the security giant is laying off 10% of its 4,000-strong global workforce, of which over 1,300 are based in the U.S, with around 1,000 located in Israel.

The reports came just one day after Palo Alto Networks signed off its $25 billion acquisition of the identity and privileged access management (IAM/PAM) vendor, in a deal that represented the second-biggest transaction in the entire financial space last year.

As part of its announcement of the closure, Palo Alto said it would pursue a secondary listing on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), on which CyberArk had yet to list, as a nod to Israel's revered global cybersecurity leadership. No warning was given, though, of the reported dozens of roles being cut from CyberArk’s Israeli division.

According to LinkedIn posts seen by SDxCentral, a number of cuts took place on the U.S. marketing side.

In a statement given to Calistech, Palo Alto Networks commented: "Strategic organizational changes are a natural part of integrating two industry leaders. We do not publish exact numbers, but the changes affect a small portion of the combined workforce, primarily in roles where there is overlap. Our focus remains on business continuity and the successful integration of teams. We remain committed to investing in our teams and technology."

Headquartered in Petach-Tikva, Israel, CyberArk was founded in 1999 by Israeli military veterans Udi Mokady, who currently serves as executive chairman, and Alon Cohen, who served as the firm's CEO until 2012. The company counts more than 10,000 enterprises as clients, including Coca‑Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, Panasonic, and Parkovyi Data Center.

CyberArk's most recent financials saw a yield of $373 million in annual recurring revenue, at a jump of almost 19% year over year (YoY). Revenue for the 2025 financial year reached roughly $1.36 billion, an increase of 36% YoY.

While Palo Alto Networks has enacted layoffs, it has more than 200 open positions posted on LinkedIn at time of writing.
